Rivendell Athletes

You are already training. We will cover the season.

Ten founders a season. We pay for the race, the kit, the labs and the gait analysis. You document the season honestly, including the parts that go badly.

What the season covers

Four things, paid for.

Roughly $2,500 an athlete. We would rather do that properly for ten people than badly for fifty.

Your entry

One marathon or one Ironman a season, entered and paid. You pick the race.

The kit

A tri suit and one piece you would wear when you are not racing. Understated, no logo wall.

Blood panels

Function Health, twice through the season. Eighty-plus biomarkers, yours to keep and read however you like.

Gait analysis

A proper session, early enough in the build that it changes something.

What we ask

Less than you would expect.

Document it honestly

Two posts a month, in your voice. The bad weeks are the interesting ones, and nobody vets your copy.

Wear the kit when you race

That is the whole visibility ask. No hashtags, no required tags.

Show up twice

Two community runs across the season. Crissy Field, usually a Sunday.

No follower minimum, and no approval over what you write. A sponsorship you cannot be honest inside is worth nothing to either of us.

How we choose

By the story, and by nothing else.

We are looking for people who would be racing anyway. That is the only real criterion. A first marathon at forty is a better story than a fast one, and we would rather read three honest sentences than a résumé.

This has nothing to do with buying insurance from us. Your company does not have to be a Rivendell customer, it does not help your application if it is, and being sponsored comes with no expectation that it ever will be. Applications from founders whose companies will never be our customers are genuinely welcome.

Apply

Tell us what you are training for.

A few sentences is plenty. This is the part we read.

Sponsorship is an agreement for the content and appearances described above, and it is not conditioned on purchasing or keeping any Rivendell product. Function Health and Strava are the trademarks of their owners.
